The mission of LISEIA is to promote a healthy, ethical and vibrant solar industry on Long Island, which includes influencing and sponsoring wise policy for local industries and organizations, and local, state and Federal governments.
HISTORY OF LISEIA
Our more experienced members remember what solarizing long island was like during the artificial oil crises of the 1970’s. Since then, as individuals, many have fought for a more stable and solar friendly business environment. For example, the NYS tax credit increase to $5,000 is the result of the pre-LISEIA efforts led by our elected Chairman, Kevin Mac Leod.
The idea of a local association was given impetus in 2007 when a number of local solar contractors met at a conference at Farmingdale University and decided that together they could make more effective progress.
And so, LISEIA was born to help create a stable environment for the Long Island solar energy industry.
